Our Policies

Vaccinations - In order to maintain a safe environment we require all pets to be up to date with vaccinations.

Fleas - please note that there will be an additional charge for dogs with fleas.

Aggressive pets - the owner must inform us if their dog is known to be aggressive. This includes if their pet has ever bitten anyone, been aggressive to other pets, had issues with specific grooming procedures or displays any other kind of behavioral problem. The owner understands that they will be legally liable for the consequences of all injuries caused by their dog in the event of us not being informed in advance of the above. If a dog shows tendencies towards excessive aggression during the groom, we reserve the right to use a soft muzzle for our safety. If we are unable to complete a groom due to any of the above mentioned behaviors or injuries to our staff, the owner agrees to pay for any work that preceded the behavior or injury. We may refuse to groom aggressive or difficult dogs, including dogs with behavioral problems.

Matted dogs - there is an extra charge for excessively matted dogs. Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats can be difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary removing a heavy matted coats includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pets skin, allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that would have  existed prior to the grooming process. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, red skin, abrasions or irritation and failure of hair to regrow. We will not be responsible for these consequences or any associated veterinary costs. Prevention is the best defence against matting, by scheduling regular grooming appointments and daily brushing.

Accidents - although accidents are very rare there is always a risk when working with dogs. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, accidents can happen including cuts, nicks and scratches when a pet is moving or wriggling about. Any accident no matter how small will be communicated to the pets owner. If necessary Pawfect Grooms will transport your pet to the veterinarian. Any bills resulting from the pet being matted, elderly, aggressive or having a difficult temperament or from a preexisting or unforeseeable condition will be the sole responsibility of the owner.

Medical conditions or senior pets - grooming older dogs comes with risks. Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior pets and pets with health problems. Your senior dog will be groomed with gentleness and care and we will not compromise any pets health or well-being to achieve the groom. Pawfect Grooms will not be responsible for accident or injury including death to an elderly or a health compromised pet during their groom. We reserve the right to seek veterinary help if needed.

Cancellations - We require 24 hours notice for cancellations or a $50 fee will be payable
